Testimonials

"The last line of the very first poem Gillian read to us in class brought me to my knees. Her prompt for us was to use that exact line to end our own—and I could barely stand!

I knew then, these wobbly legs would follow her anywhere! I can’t wait for the next series of poetry classes with Gillian!"

"Every time I come to one of these sessions, I almost talk myself out of it because of the never-ending list of to dos I SHOULD be doing, and every time it’s over I wish this happened every day.

Gillian is a gentle but strong force in how she curates this group and these sessions—and she has a contagious way about her which makes connecting with the other participants as fun and unintimidating as the writing itself.

I’m always surprised that I leave having written something I didn’t know was in me that I can be proud of, and I’m so thankful for her sharing her magic with us in this accessible way so that we can all get a glimpse of our own. "

Gillian! Thank you for that wonderful workshop! I totally get why others rave about your gifts and your spirit! That was such a wonderful experience, and just what I needed to kick off the year with a creative boost. I really love the poems themselves, how you turned them into prompts, how open and gentle and friendly and safe you make the zoom-space feel, and just your wonderful, radiant, kind, joyful presence!

You made a space that felt "big" enough to contain joy even as we share all the sorrows of this hard time. And I just kept thinking about how lucky your students are, oh my goodness! You are an inspiring teacher! Thank you again for taking the time to do this and share your gifts with all of us! I'm looking forward to future workshops!
